It’s cap and gown time for high school seniors. Graduation ceremonies are coming up at the four area high schools.
JHS
The Jefferson High School graduation will be held Friday, May 17, at 8 p.m. in the Dragon Stadium at 575 Washington St., Jefferson. If it rains, the ceremony will be held in the gym and a ticket must be presented in order to enter. Any guest needing special assistance prior to May 17 should contact Kevin Smith at 706-367-2881. The JHS valedictorian is Julie Ann Watson and the salutatorian is Jacob Page.
CHS
The Commerce High School graduation will be held Friday, May 17, at 8 p.m. in the football stadium at 272 Lakeview Drive, Commerce. If it rains, the ceremony will be held in the school gymnasium and a ticket must be presented in order to enter. Any guest needing special assistance prior to May 17 should contact Terry Kanup at 706-335-5942, ext. 8811.
EJCHS
The East Jackson Comprehensive High School graduation will be held Wednesday, May 22, at 8 p.m. in the Eagle Stadium at 1435 Hoods Mill Road, Commerce.
If it rains, the ceremony will be held in the gym and a ticket must be presented in order to enter. Any guest needing special assistance prior to May 22 should contact Sheila Bolton at 706-336-8900 ext. 29009. The EJCHS valedictorian is Sam Derochers and the salutatorian Nishil Patel.
JCCHS
The Jackson County Comprehensive High School graduation will be held Thursday, May 23, at 8 p.m. in the Panther Stadium at 1668 Winder Highway,
Jefferson. If bad weather makes it dangerous or otherwise impossible for the ceremony to take place, then the ceremony will be rescheduled for Friday, May 24 at 10 a.m. in the stadium. If the weather does not allow the ceremony to take place on May 24 at 10 a.m., then it will be rescheduled for Friday, May 24, at 4 p.m. in the stadium. Any guest who may need special assistance should contact Jason Holcombe prior to May 23 at 706-367-5003. The JCCHS valedictorian is Drake Corbin and the salutatorian is Erin Jenkins.
