Three incumbents were re-elected to serve on their respective fire boards in Tuesday’s election.

In the West Jackson Fire Board race, incumbent Elizabeth Ash had 2,059 votes, while challenger James Henderson had 912 votes for Post 5.

Three people were injured Monday morning when their car crashed into the back of a firetruck.

The incident happened about 8 a.m. on the Damon Gause Bypass at the Hwy. 82 intersection in Arcade. A fire truck was responding to a call at the time of the incident.

Three people in the car were transported to area hospitals.

Two people were injured Tuesday in a fire at Reckitt Benckiser, a manufacturer of household items, at I-85 in Jefferson. Mark Duke of the Jefferson Fire Department said the fire started on a fork lift where someone was unloading aerosol cans from a tractor trailer. The tractor trailer burned, but there was minimal damage to the building. Two employees reportedly had minor injuries. Fire departments responding to the incident included Jefferson, North Jackson, Plainview and the correctional institute.
