Josh Fenn, president, CEO and economic development director for the Jackson County Area Chamber of Commerce, will soon leave that job.
Fenn confirmed Tuesday morning that he was taking a job “in the private sector,” but could not elaborate as he was in the process of boarding an airplane for an unrelated trip.
An official statement from chamber chairman Shawn Watson states Fenn took a job with ECS (Engineering Consulting Services) in Atlanta.
Fenn began work with the chamber in July 2013 at a salary of $100,000. Prior to taking the position, he was the executive director of the Development Authority of Bryan County (near Savannah) since 2009, has served as president and CEO of the Eastman/Dodge County Chamber of Commerce for six years, and was employed by the Waycross Downtown Development Authority as its executive director for two years. He is a certified economic developer.
