The Jackson County Board of Commissioners heard a request from airport manager Bob Stapleton to create two new staff positions at the airport at a cost of $90,000 to the county for salaries and benefits. [Full Story »] 

The new county fire-training center will not have the large driving course that was included in the original design and was supported by the county fire association.

In a 3-2 vote, the Jackson County Board of Commissioners voted to remove the driving course and instead increase the size of the concrete pad located around the burn tower to 285x300 to be used for driving practice.

BJC Medical Center’s request for financial assistance from the Jackson County Board of Commissioners will be on the agenda for possible action at next week’s BOC meeting. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday at the courthouse.
