Incidents reported last week to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office include the following:
•mailbox damaged at a New Kings Bridge Road, Nicholson, address.
•someone broke into three trucks at a Galilee Church Road, Jefferson, location.
•dryer and boat motor taken from a Marshall Clark Road, Hoschton, residence.
•simple battery at a Standridge Road, Jefferson, home.

13-year-old charged with ‘gang activity’

A 13-YEAR-OLD was charged by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office last week in connection with threats being written on a wall in the bathroom at Kings Bridge Middle School.
The teen was charged with gang activity, disruption of public school and damage to property.

Water authority settles with engineer

Armentrout gets $235,000
The Jackson County Water and Sewerage authority reached a $235,000 settlement with a former engineer.
The authority, following a closed session last Thursday night, voted to sign the agreement stemming from its dismissal in 2002 of the engineering firm Armentrout, Roebuck Matheney Consulting.
None of the current members were on the authority at the time the firm was dismissed.
