Jackson County Comprehensive High School has a new principal.
Pete Jones was named Monday night by the board of education to replace retiring Scott Smith in the principal’s position at JCCHS. Jones is currently an assistant principal at Collins Hill High School in Gwinnett County.
Perhaps the most difficult move for the BOE Monday night was the approval of 39 resignations and terminations as the system attempts to get its finances in better shape.
The reduction-in-force was announced earlier as a cost-cutting measure by the board. Many of the resignations approved Monday night were due to the RIF.
