The Jackson County Board of Education will hold a two-day retreat Thursday and Friday at the central office in Jefferson. The BOE will discuss, among other items, the FY2015 budget, facilities planning for area schools and reducing staff in the next fiscal year.
The meeting will begin at 8 a.m. and go until 4 p.m. both days.

Looks like another mess. Employees that do their job are being axed and those that continue to do nothing but kiss tail are being left alone. You have coaches teaching 1 class. There is continued waste in the school system yet cuts are not made in those areas. The BOE is again loaded up. Principals are allowed to hire "friends" from outside counties while JC people are let go. The school system is a joke. You don't see surrounding counties with these problems. People are fleeing to Jefferson City Schools and who could blame them.
