The Jackson County School System spent a little less last year for its top salaries than it did the year before.
The top 50 employees in the JCSS earned a total of $4.465 million in FY2013 compared to $4.492 the top 50 earned in FY2012.
Former superintendent John Green was the highest paid employee in FY2013 at $158,179. In FY2012, former superintendent Shannon Adams was the highest paid at $176,017.
Overall, the system spent slightly more for salaries in FY2013 at $45.02 million compared to $44.98 million the year before. Those amounts include substitute teachers and all non-certified employees as well as certified teachers and staff.
