A man was arrested for allegedly stealing more than $500 worth of chicken from Pendergrass Wayne Farms chicken plant.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office conducted a three-month investigation, which led to a confession by the employee, who had been “taking the chicken out of the box and placing it in a blue backpack and leaving the plant,” an incident report states. The estimated dollar amount of the missing chicken is between $300-$532. The complainant said he wanted to press charges against the man for “the theft of chicken,” according to the report.
Martin Delgado-Elias, 49, of Gainesville, was charged with misdemeanor theft by taking.
ONLY IN JACKSON COUNTY can they arrest a man for the theft of CHICKEN and it NOT be funny?..... NO I'm sorry this is really really funny.. AND they couldn't make this up. How would you like to go to prison for stealing chicken? I wonder did he CHOKE the chicken and kill it too? BUT wait that's another case of the chicken killer? AND since the chicken was already dead when he took it could they still charge him with chicken napping?
