Fraud reported in several incidents

A Commerce man reported being the victim of identity theft last week after his credit card was used at a West Palm Beach, Fla., business four times.

Other incidents of fraud reported to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office last week includes the following:

•a Jefferson man said his wife, who he is in the process of divorcing, deposited a check they received in the mail in her checking account.

•an Athens man reported one of his checks was cashed by someone he does not know.

•fraud against a Maysville woman involving the purchase of property.
