The Jefferson Lady Dragons volleyball team wrapped up their regular season this week, and will be one of two schools to play host to the area tournament, along with East Jackson, starting Thursday.
The Lady Dragons were scheduled to host Apalachee and Monroe Area Tuesday night.
Apalachee came away with a 0-2 victory over Jefferson in sets of 10-25 and 21-25.
Results from the Monroe Area match were not available at press time.
With the regular season wrapped up, the Lady Dragons now look towards the area tournament. Matches will begin at 4 p.m. at both Jefferson and East Jackson. At Jefferson, top-ranked Athens Academy will face the winner of Tuesday’s match-up between the number eight and number nine teams, while the number four and number five teams will also face off.
Saturday’s matches begin at 10 a.m., with the championship match scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
The tournament is double elimination, with four teams advancing to the state playoffs.
