Jefferson officials will fund $4.09 million for the Jefferson Station project for police and library facilities. Work is expected to begin soon and be completed within nine months. The project was discussed at the Jefferson City Council meeting Monday night. The total cost of the renovation project at the former Food Lion shopping center is projected at $6.01 million. The city will receive $1.9 million in state funds for the library portion of the project. Project manager Don Clerici spoke on the renovation at the city council meeting Monday night.

Does anyone else find it odd that the library that has a lot of children activities will be located next to the Police Station? Will they house "lawbreakers" there at all?
