An Arcade man has been sentenced to serve 20 years in jail on charges related to the December, 2012, attack on a 12-year-old girl.
Jeffrey Tingle pled guilty to two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of burglary, two counts criminal attempt to commit child molestation and two counts of cruelty to children. He was sentenced to 20 years in jail, no contact with the victim, must register as a sex offender, and 10 years probation. The charges were made on December 14, 2012, when Tingle was arrested after reportedly trying to break into an Arcade home and attacking a 12-year-old girl. Authorities said he climbed through an unlocked window of the home at 10:30 p.m. and went into a bedroom where the 12-year-old victim and her younger sister were. He then reportedly assaulted the 12-year-old.
