A 40-year-old man driving a motorcycle was killed and two people were injured in an accident that occurred on Ga. Hwy. 124 in Jackson County on Saturday. The accident happened at 11:42 a.m., according to West Jackson Fire/Rescue and Jackson County EMS, who responded to the crash. Francisco Oscar Ramirez, of Doraville, was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained during the accident.
A passenger on the motorcycle, Andrea Ra Zeigler, 43, of Lawrenceville, was taken to Athens Regional Medical Center with severe life-threatening injuries. She is currently in intensive care.
A third female victim, Dorothy Jean Conley, 77, of Hoschton, was taken to Athens Regional Medical Center with injuries and has since been discharged from the hospital.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia State Patrol. The GSP Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is investigating the accident. Charges are pending.
