A pedestrian said he was forced to stab an aggressive pig he encountered in Jefferson last week. The incident occurred on the 800 block of Holder Siding Road as the complainant was walking to work at about 5:30 a.m. According to a Jefferson Police Department incident report, the complainant said he spotted a large animal approaching him. Initially, he thought it was a dog, but as it came closer, he discovered it was a pig. The man said the pig tried to bite him on the leg, and after several attempts to fend it off, he had no choice but to pull out his pocketknife and stab it, he said. The pig supposedly walked away at that point. The complainant said his boss told him to go to the hospital to be sure the pig didn’t have rabies, but the pig bites didn’t break the man’s skin. He was reportedly told at the hospital that he wouldn’t need a rabies shot.
