A Jefferson woman had just finished running the Boston Marathon Monday when a few minutes later, two explosions rocked the area. Tess Pierce Nunnally and her husband Grant Nunnally were nearby the scene with family, celebrating her completion of the marathon when the explosions happened. Nunnally finished the Boston Marathon at race time 3:52, only 17 minutes before the explosions that injured over two dozen people. Grant had reportedly been sitting near where the explosion took place, but had left to go meet Tess at the finish line. Nunnally is a teacher at Holsenbeck Elementary School in Winder.
Nunnally, her husband Grant and other family members at the marathon are now safe and sound in their hotel room. Because of overload on the Boston area phone lines, getting updated information has been difficult.
