Georgia’s gun bill passes in House
If the Georgia House of Representatives — including Rep. Tommy Benton (R-Jefferson) has its way, Georgians who have firearms carry permits will soon be able to bring concealed weapons to church, into bars, onto college campuses and even into government buildings — including courthouses that lack systems for screening for weapons.
The House passed House Bill 512 — the Safe Carry and Protection Act — last week by a margin of 117-56.
The bill must still pass the Senate and be signed by Gov. Deal, but Benton says the crafters of the legislation sought input from both of those parties, which suggests the bill is likely to become law.
Passage of the law would mean no changes at the Jackson County Courthouse, where screening for weapons takes place.
The same legislation also gives the school systems the right to arm administrators.
“I would hope if school systems decide to do that, that it’s a concealed carry so students don’t know who it is,” he said.

It's a tactic.
Believing that "we need to have armed security to prevent mass-casualties caused by gun-free zones" is proof that fear tactics are successful. You should be more afraid of having armed security in schools than potential mass-casualties.
Have you noticed the increase of news stories related to hacking and cyber-crimes lately? Soon they will be asking for the right to control the internet, and if you aren't doing anything wrong, you won't mind, right?
Just because the media sensationalizes school shootings doesn't mean that your child is at risk. Putting guns in school probably increases the chance they'll be the victims of gun violence.

Educators are fine individuals who really care about their students and will protect them at any cost. However, they are not trained as law enforcement officers and under stress giving them a firearm and expecting them to deal with a threat under stress will have major unexpected consequences!
We can't expect our Police to be there when a crisis develops because it isn't possible unless they are on the property already. Some in our Government look for ways to control everything we do. What to eat, what size drink we can buy and yes what kind of weapon we own. How many bullets we have. All of America does not want to be told where we pray or what God we pray to. We don't want Government making rules in order to control us. Americans want to be FREE. No matter what your personality is we all want Freedom and we are willing to fight for it. We have our rights violated everyday in this country in the name of Security. We are responsible for the Safety of each other. I like the new proposed Gun Bill. If people want to kill other people they will. If the people are armed the victims can at least defend themselves.
