Parade to be held Jan. 6 for Jefferson Dragons at 1:30 p.m.

A parade will be held for the 2012 Jefferson Dragons football team on Sunday, Jan. 6, at 1:30 p.m. The event is a joint effort between the City of Jefferson and Jefferson City Schools. Citizens are asked to line up on the sides of Washington Street from Jefferson High School into downtown. The parade will culminate with a pep rally on the north side of the square. The Dragons defeated the Calhoun Yellow Jackets 31-14 in the Class AA finals to capture the school’s first-ever state championship at the Georgia Dome on Dec. 15. Can we come... is the announcer from commerce "Bill Davis" invited.... maybe ya should let him announce the parade... talking about beating a dead horse in the ground... I understand the people of Jefferson are proud of there team because there not used to winning.. way to go.. enjoy it.... just remember who put that 1 lose on your record.. that's right the COMMERCE TIGERS!

How pathetic is it for someone to try and rain on the parade of these young men who earned their championship trophy this year? When Commerce won their state championship 12 years ago, I pulled for them to win it all, because they were representing our county so well.

It's really pretty sad when the adults take this stuff more seriously than the kids do.

tigerfan, what exactly was your record this year? how far did the pussy cats get in the playoffs? guess you guys haven't been able to recruit players like in the past !!!!
