Citizens slam Crow for role in lawsuit against county

Three citizens and some members of the Jackson County Board of Commissioners verbally attacked commissioner Tom Crow Monday night for his reported part in a lawsuit filed by four citizens to stop work on the new West Jackson EMS station. A hearing on the lawsuit is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday in Jackson County Superior Court.
At the BOC meeting Monday night, citizen Ron Johnson told Crow, “You need to man up and be honest with people. You want to move it closer to Jefferson ... You are trying to get more service for people in Jefferson … Shame on you. You are wrong. You are wrong. You are wrong. Who is going to pay that money back when you lose the lawsuit? … You don’t care about the taxpayers. You care about one person and you are sitting in his chair. That is all you care about.”
More than 15 area public safety volunteers and interested citizens attended the BOC meeting. Three spoke on the lawsuit and the EMS station. No action was taken and Crow’s response to the citizen questions was: “All of that will be determined at the court hearing on the 10th.”

I am not so much in support of Tom, but if it upsets Ron Johnson who cares. He is just a bigmouth. Tom was elected, even though big mouth opposed him-Some one needs to vet big mouth. Since when did the mistake from Sugar Hill care about any thing other than Ron Johnson.

Frankly Ron had the guts to stand up to him.I wish Buffington would !

This law suit is nothing put personal pay back from Tom and his FF buddies... has nothing to do with SPLOST or how close that station is to where.

I have lived I Jackson County for a long long time. What you say about Tom has some truth My point is that Ron Johnson has no standing to challenge him. How can a phoney and a liar have any thing to say about our county.

Please don't let your personal feelings against Ron cloud your judgement about the issue at hand. It is the message and not the messenger that needs attention.

....the last time I checked this is still a country where concerned citizens can speak freely at city council and county commission meetings. I applaud Ron for standing up to Tom at Monday's county meeting. You have to ask yourself why would Tom pull something like this when he will have the chair in January? I don't think this is a feud over FF's as some suggest, I think it has more to do about keeping the center of power in Jefferson vs Braselton. More of a ego driven power play than anything else. The iron work is up at the new EMS station, we need to let Hayes get it completed quickly. Let's get the EMS team out of that ratty house and into the new station, this issue is doing nothing for the morale of our excellent county EMS department.

Bravo, Ron Johnson! We've emailed Crow asking him questions and he has NEVER responded. He obviously doesn't care about, or isn't in touch with the citizens.

I have tried to contact Mr. Crow many times, in the past, not abrasive and he chooses to never respond.

I would still like to know why the horse farm on Jackson Trail was landscaped on Mr. Crows watch and 4 times at that. They went on private property using our monies.

It is who you know and the good old boy good old girl network.

Crow needs to step down.

Everyone is talking about Tom's FF buddies. I think if you take a survey you will find that alot of the Fire Departments don't like Tom and didn't vote for Tom.

Lyles is the Fire Chief in Maysville, Waters was the Fire Chief in Jefferson.

As a group you have let these 3 talk for you for years... now your credibility is shot. So yes his FF buddies is correct.

Not everyone at the FD is his buddy, word around town is he tried to get our local chief fired recently. Much like this EMS issue, what does Crow care about who the fire chief is anywhere but Jefferson? Just payback I guess.

Recall? He was just elected last month! I wonder how many votes he received, considering no one was running against him, compared to total votes cast. I sure didn't vote for him, I left it blank. We really need a "none of the above" option, especially when people run unopposed.

Hunter Bricknel ran against Tom in the rep.primary. It is not our fault that dems.can,t win a general election. I wish they could, it might stop the Rino,'s.

It is our fault. Who do you want to blame "the government"? The time to stand up has long since passed, we get what we deserve on the federal, state, and local levels.

Crow received over 20,000 votes out of 24,000 cast. Good luck trying to recall him.

I was at court today when Tom showed his true colors. First he explains that the plaintiffs attorney would not be there because he was sick (Tom knew this because he said he was on the phone with him for 3 hours on Sunday). Then after the county attorney explained the county's position on the situation the judge asked if any of the plaintiffs had anything they wanted to add Tommy Boy stood up and asked if he could speak on the plaintiff's behalf! I guess Chief Lyle and Chief Waters didn't know what to say so Tom was going to speak for them. The judge told Tom that he wouldn't let him speak because while he was not listed as a plaitiff, he IS a defendant. The crowd burst out in laughter. What a joke!

Has anyone else notice how at one time this was the story of the year for Mainstreetnews a few years ago and now it being repeatedly buried deep into the website? The people need to know what a deceptive and self serving person Tom Crow is. According to the Braselton News,who actually has a story of the recent events of the county, Mr Crow went to court to represent and support the plantiffs in the suit against Jackson County. So much for electing someone to represent the people of Jackson County. Are the people of Jackson County really going to sit around and let this happen?

Maybe this will be the final kicker to get James Lyle out of Maysville Fire. What does he care about an EMS station anyway? He lives on the far side of Homer and refuses to let Maysville members respond to medical calls or run with rescue.
