Winder attorney Wayne McLocklin has been appointed by Governor Nathan Deal as the fourth judge for the Piedmont Judicial Circuit, which includes Jackson, Barrow and Banks counties.
The fourth judge’s position was created for the Piedmont Judicial Circuit by the passage of Senate Bill 356 during the 2012 Session of the Georgia General Assembly. Jefferson attorney Wanda David also applied for the position. McLocklin is managing partner in the law firm of McLocklin & Murphy, LLP. He has been active in organizations such as the Gridiron Secret Society, AGHON Honor Society, Barrow County Chamber of Commerce, the Oconee River Soil and Water Conservation District and cattleman’s organizations. McLocklin earned his bachelor’s and law degrees from the University of Georgia. He and his wife, Melanie, live in Statham and have two children.
