Barack Obama was elected to a second term as president Tuesday, although Jackson County voters overwhelmingly favored Mitt Romney. In Jackson County, Romney took 81 percent in a 19,122-4,236 vote. Libertarian Gary Johnson received 312 votes in Jackson County. Jackson County had a 75 percent voter turnout with 23,775 of the county’s 31,874 voters casting a ballot.
Jackson County voters followed those across the state with 53 percent favoring charter schools. The vote in the county was 11,995-10,825. Statewide, the amendment passed with 58 percent of voters supporting charter schools. The charter amendment will allow the state to re-establish a commission that could grant charters to schools. Opponents of the amendment said it would take money from already established public schools, and reduce local control of education.

The GOP has always accepted defeat and success with grace and dignity. I can assure you if Romney had won, there would have been no singing of the "na na na na hey hey goodbye" song like at the last inauguration.

It's kind of hard to be influenced by the black community when the people who are raising you are white. I would think he has more influence from Hawaiians, Indonesians, and whites, than blacks? I can't imagine the Catholic school help him identify as black either? Nor his homeschooling (in a white home).
We don't need to be concerned with his later life racist views. It's his WHITE friends like BILL AYERS, COMMUNIST TERRORIST,
US GOVERNMENT BOMBER that are the real concern.
Just like with Jimmy Carter, race has nothing to do with being a terrible president.
Funny Stuff on Barry!
However, this American accepts him as my President.
If I had but one political wish... it would be for him to man up and quit blaming everyone else.
Doesn't make sense.
It's like Tea Partiers screaming, "Keep your government hands off my Medicare!"
There's a huge disconnect from reality in this country. We need leaders who aren't afraid of not being re-elected. Term limits would be a start. Ending corporate contributions to campaigns would be another step.
