A home in Arcade was damaged by fire Thursday morning and the American Red Cross has been requested to assist the family.
Jackson County Emergency Services Director Steve Nichols said around 8:35 a.m. units from Arcade, Jefferson, South Jackson and the Jackson County Correctional Institute Fire Departments responded to the single-story residence located at 162 Nathaniel Drive.
“Upon arrival they found a single-story, single-family residence about 50 percent involved with fire and heavy smoke showing,” Nicholson said. The fire was contained to the structure with heavy damage occurring.
“Residents were home at the time of the fire and reported furnace problems,” Nichols said. No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation by the Arcade Fire Department.
