A “boil water” advisory for Jefferson residents impacted by the water repairs made last week has been lifted and the water is now safe to drink.
“We have received the required bacteriological test results which indicate that the water is again safe to drink,” Jeff Killip, public works director said. “No boiling is necessary.”
There was a water service interruption in some areas of Jefferson Friday while repairs to the line were being made. The areas impacted included: Water Plant, Clay Drive, Cooley Avenue and College Street from East Minden (the square) to Institute Street. The repair was made to the existing 14-inch water main.
