Two people have been charged in connection with a suspicious death that occurred Monday in the Hidden Lakes subdivision in Jefferson.
According to Jefferson Police Department detective Chris Foster, Edward Watson Clary Jr., 32, and Kayla Marie Clary, 26, are being held at the Jackson County jail on a variety of drug charges.
The police has not released the name of the deceased male while the death is under investigation. The police department is awaiting results of an autopsy.
Foster said Jefferson Police secured a warrant Monday at around 10:30 a.m. after drugs were spotted in plain view in the house.
Clary and Clary are each charged with the following: one count of selling with the possession or intent, two counts of possession of a schedule II drug (Oxycodone, Methadone), one count of possession of controlled substance, schedule III (Suboxone), four counts of a possession IV drug (Clonazepam, Alprazoplam, Paentrmin and Hydrocodone), two counts cruelty to children (2nd) degree, one count of possession of marijuana less than one ounce, one count of possession of firearm for commission of a crime and one count of disorderly house.
There were two children living in the home, ages six months and six years old amd DFACS has been notified, Foster reports.
