When it comes to the “state” of Jackson County Schools, one of the primary goals is improving the district’s financial bottom line, according to superintendent John Green.
Green discusses finances in ‘State of the Schools’ report
In a report he dubbed the “State of the Schools,” Green outlined five key points — most of which tackle the district’s financial issues. The school system continues to use furlough days to cut expenses, and officials expect local and state revenue will further drop in the coming years.
In recent years, the school system has also laid off employees and eliminated programs to save money. There’s no indication from district officials now that will happen again soon.
