The Jefferson Police Department asks that students not be dropped off at the public library
Because of safety reasons, the Jefferson Police and public library are asking parents not to drop off or pick up their high school students at the public library. “This creates an unsafe situation with the number of students and cars that are utilizing this area,” officials state.
All Jefferson High School student drop offs and pick ups should take place in the front senior parking area of Jefferson High School. Those continuing to use the public library may be subject to a citation from the Jefferson Police Department.
I don't understand why so many people need to rebel against every decision made.
'You must walk on the sidewalk to avoid getting hit by a car' - (police)
"It's my right to walk down the street!! There aren't any SIGNS saying I can't! Why is the government trying to control ME!!!" - (people of Jackson county)
Just give it a break, and do things the right way for the safety of your children. Their safety should matter more than a more convenient pick up for you.
You, and people like you are what's wrong with this country... not the government.
If people weren't constantly trying to make the governement react in a negative way, there wouldn't be a need for government intervention into EVERYTHING.
Do you realize what you are saying? There should be a legal process taken on in order to get parents to follow a basic request from the school system, for the safety of their own children.
It's BS like this that has made the world what it is.
Also, Jefferson has enough buses to accomodate it's students that live in the city limits (which technically should be the only students going to the school), but they can't accomodate every student from Jackson county who's parents thought they were too good for the county school.
If the bus doesn't go by your childs house, chances are your child should be in Jackson County, and I guarantee that bus goes by your house.
Most peopla are complaining about situations they've put themselves in.
My kids wont ride the bus due to the fact that sometimes they have to stand and hold on for dear life. And i wont let them unless i absolutely have to. So why is this if there is enough room? Granted this is in the first part of the year and i believe kids begin to dwindle off the bus due to after school activities. But it tells me there is NOT enough room.(or buses)
And NO, I am not complaining, It is what it is and just stating the facts.
