School system enrollment at 7,128 students

Five days after the Jackson County School System started its new school year, district enrollment numbers show that 7,128 students are taking classes. Superintendent John Green said he expects more students to enroll in the district — possibly bringing the count to 7,300 pupils by Labor Day.
