A Commerce man was rrested for various charges last week, including kicking a police officer in the nose.
Thomas J. Jarrett, 28, 4885 Highway 82, Commerce, was charged with disorderly conduct, obstruction and criminal trespass, according to a Jefferson Police Department incident report.
Police became involved when an officer was dispatched to a report of domestic dispute at a Rail Road Street apartment. The officer met with the female complainant who said Jarrett caused extensive damage to the apartment, which included a large crack on the inside of the bedroom door, a large crack in the bathroom door, and some knocked over and broken items.
Jarrett was reportedly too intoxicated to speak to officers and when they tried to handcuff him, he screamed profanities and refused to stand up, the report states. He eventually had to be carried to the back of a patrol car, fighting officers’ attempts to place him in the car.
When he was finally in the back of the patrol car, the he reportedly turned sideways and kicked the backdoor of the car as an officer attempted to close it, as well as kicking one of the officers in the face.
He was eventually restrained and taken to the Jackson County jail.
The police department should be using their efforts else where - there are plenty of child abusers/molestors that are ignored because it's easier to attack all the drugs and drunks on the street.
I wouldn't be surprised if Russia and China only had a third of the US prison population in their own prisons.. in the US its a walk in the park, they even get TV shows! Most other countries make prison less pleasant so criminals try to avoid going back.
Most are ignorant to how corrupt the government is, communities have become too dependent on their law enforcement that it seems that no one can handle their own anymore. Even in this situation she should have just called Tommys parents and had them drag him home and sober him up.
