Today is the day. After weeks of campaigning, local candidates now have to wait to see what voters decide. Polls close tonight at 7 p.m. and results will be posted to The Jackson Herald website as the results come in.

I received a campaign postcard from Ramone Gilbert today. In it he proclaims he supervised up to 450 people at the HCSO. Interesting to note that in previous advertisments he indicated he supervised up to 493 people. Hmm...? which is it Ramone? If something straighforward like this is fudged with his credentials what else is incorrect, or fabricated with his background?

'Supervised up to 493 employees' that is straight from Gilbert's campaign website. But the card you will receive in mail today says 'supervising up to 450 employees'
Looks like resume embellishment to me. What else is puffed up and embellished with his credentials? Integrity, Right Man? I don't think so.
Think about who is more qualified. Try to leave that job you were promised out of it. Ramone is the most qualified. My family, friends, and others will definitely cancel your vote out.
One thing is for sure, TWO groups of folks are already LOSERS in this election.
#1 The Chamber and Farm Bureau have found out that they don't know how to handle a FORUM. The 1st graders at JES could have performed better. You really need microphones that work. I know that the candidates had to be upset. Nobody likes to see a Politician's lips moving and not be able to hear the Lies that are being said.
#2 All of the Sheriff's enployees that have made the mistake of openfully supporting the candidate that has promised a job or promotion to them. When your future source of employement depends on that candidate winning, you can't do this. Maybe they are Gamblers. Oh well, Clarke and Barrow County always need some new folks.
My vote is for Andy Garrison for Sheriff. I have known him for over 12 years and he is BY FAR the most qualified. Anyone who says different has not compared the qualifications of the candidates. He was the Director of the North East GA Law Enforcement Academy for 28 years... that means he taught people how to be law enforcement officers, including Sheriff's on how to be a good Sheriff!!! And with a 4 year Bachelors degree in criminal justice and a Public Administration Masters Degree, you cannot get more qualified than that. No one else but Andy Garrison is the right person for Sheriff in my county.
