A Jackson County sheriff’s deputy responded to a Hawks Nest Road, Commerce, address where a man reported that he and his wife were going through a divorce and apparently were fighting over a pair of jet skis.
According to a report, the man told the deputy that following a divorce hearing he was ordered to return the jet skis to his wife’s house. The man said he dropped the jet skis off in a trailer and he put a lock in the trailer do that they would not be stolen. The man said that his wife asked him for a key to the lock, but he told her that the order only told him to return the jet skis — not keys to any lock.
The man advised that when he attempted to leave his wife’s house, she confronted him, and they had a heated exchanged of words. The man said that he felt as if his wife was attempting to prevent him for leaving the residence. The man told the deputy that he wanted a report made showing that he did indeed return the jet skis to his wife.
The deputy met with the man’s wife, who said that her husband did return the jet skis, but he backed them so close to the back porch that they could not be taken off the trailer. She also said that he put a lock on the trailer so that the trailer could not be moved, and refused to give her a key.
The woman said she would be selling the jet skis.
Another female was present, but when questioned, she said she was a mutual friend to both parties.
