The Jackson County School System’s budget will drop by three percent next fiscal year, as revenue figures remain uncertain. The board of education on Monday adopted a tentative $84 million general fund budget for the 2013 fiscal year, which starts on July 1. Its current fiscal year budget was approved for $86.8 million. The budget doesn’t call any changes to its property tax millage rate, which stands at 18.90 mills. It does, however, call for six furlough days — also called calendar reduction days — for teachers and paraprofessionals and four furlough days for employees who only work when students are in school, such as bus drivers.

Can anyone confirm or debunk the following, or at least shed some light onto the subject:
I have heard, JCCHS principal Scott Smith has encouraged experienced teachers to quit, or move on, and is hiring a high proportion of new teachers right out of college? If this is true, what is his logic? We know that would save some $$, but what about the experience drain that will occur if this happened? Also, if true, could one of the explanations be about "control" of his employees?
Does anyone have any reliable information on this?
This is the AD's first job and so of course he will have a lot to learn. From what I hear he does not listen well, so he may not learn. Hopefully he will.
