Due to budgetary problems for school systems state-wide, the Jefferson Board of Education amended its 2012-2013 school calendar Thursday to reinstate two furlough days initially left off the calendar. The system will operate with a calendar similar to the one it used this year and eight total furlough days.
Jefferson schools to have 8 furlough days
The furlough days will help Jefferson Schools save money in what looks to be a lean year for funds.
The system was initially optimistic that it wouldn’t have to do this. The Jefferson BOE had approved a 2012-2013 calendar back in February that reduced the number of furlough days from eight to six.

cut some of the administrators salaries. no one should be making >100k at such a small system !!!!!
