Jefferson FFA competes in Forestry Field Day

IN PREPARATION for upcoming forestry competitions, members of the Jefferson City FFA Chapter participated in the Oconee Invitational Forestry Field Day on March 20.

Jefferson students competed among other senior and junior forestry divisions from many local chapters. The field day was a practice to prepare the teams for the area competition in Athens on April 19.

Senior Forestry Team Placings

1st in Tree I.D. – Dylan Cantrell
1st in Forest Disorders – Alex Holman
1st in Board Ft. Volume – Cody Girardot
2nd in Ocular Estimation – Lance Pass
3rd in Forest Management – Andrew Moore and Same Fouche
1st in Land Measurement – Cole Howington
2nd in Compass Use – Jenifer Martin
Junior Forestry Team Placings
1st in Tree I.D. – Summerlin Courchaine
1st in Forest Disorders – Katie Brown
3rd in Cord Volume – Kyle Hubbard
2nd in Board Ft. Volume – Tanner Waddell
1st Product Classification – Destiny Bradley
1st Forest Management- Kimberly Allen
2nd in Land Measurement – Kelli Caudell
1st in Compass Use ­– Maverick McKinney
3rd in Timber Stand Improvement – Matt Sims
1st in Reforestation – Alex Gober
