The former owner of Agri-Cycle in Talmo is seeking a new trial after he was recently found guilty of illegally dumping wastewater in a facility owned by the City of Thomaston. Richard Harville was the operator of Agri-Cycle when a wastewater treatment pond at its North Jackson property caught fire in 2007. Harville and Agri-Cycle have a long legal history with the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) and Jackson County.
Agri-Cycle was administratively dissolved in August 2011 — just weeks before Harville was arrested in Upson County on a single charge of theft by receiving, according to court records and the secretary of state’s website.
