Officers chase pretend cop in South Jackson

Jackson County deputies had a dangerous encounter last week with a man who is suspected of impersonating a police officer.

Officers spotted a black Crown Victoria outfitted like a police vehicle last Thursday on Jefferson River Road in South Jackson and a high-speed chase ensued during which the car ran deputies off the road.

The car was driven by a white male and led officers on a chase through South Jackson along Crooked Creed Road, Hwy. 129, Mary Collier Road and Archer Grove School road. At one point, the car came at a JCSO deputy head-on, forcing the deputy to swerve off the road to avoid a collision.

Local law enforcement officers have been looking for a similar vehicle since a man pretending to be a deputy stopped a woman on Feb. 5 in South Jackson and searched her “inappropriately.”

Did they eventually catch him? This guy attempted to pull me over on Jefferson River Road where camp Well Spring is located. He was parked in hidden drive beside a church. 911 was notified at that time. That is a very dark stretch of the road and I always drive slow to avoid deer. So it was easy to spot this guys truck with lights strapped on. The lights are not the typical police lights, they are small warning lights a wrecker might use.

Could this person be related to the driver that attempted to hit bikers or run them off the Jefferson River Road?

Okay Jackson County go to work. It sounds like you have some information on the car. DMV can give you details on Crown Vics., color, year etc. You have witnesses surely your Po Po got the color of the car and maybe a partial on the license?

Nail this guy.

to catch speeders and kids smoking cigarrettes then real criminals!! i guess it just shows all you got to do is drive like you mean it in Madison and Jackson counties, unless your law abiding then for sure your getting a ticket and more often then not asked many personal questions, like where you coming from? going to? hey none of your business officer

When he tried to "pull me over", it did not seem like a police stop at all. He just looked like one of those vehicles that follow wide load trucks. No way do you pull over for that.

Also he changes vehicles. With me he was in a small older truck.

My kid got into a fender bender in Athens and was clearly not her fault. Officer DO GOOD said he would not ticket the other driver since no one was injured. Let the insurance companies take care of it.

But yet these same PO Po will sit over near St. Marys and threaten you with a ticket if you take a left in the turn lane into a certain hospital. Or they will hide *cant stand the moto head cop* and give you a ticket.

My bet is the police or Po Po will have your tail in a sling, in the nasty jail, sooner rather than later.

Betcha someone will end up turning you in.

What kind of MAN are you frightening our women? You are a low life punk.

I heard there is a reward if someone turns you in. Wish I knew who you are I could surely use the money.

Kind of makes me want to get some very large friends and just drive up and down Jefferson River Road....

Hey Just Curious: Nope you do not need therapy this blank de blank Son of a Gun needs therapy. It would be too funny for 5 brutes to pile out and beat the krap out of this wuss.

Just wait and see this dude will pull over the wrong person, or make another mistake and WHAM busted. Or worse.

I think we are all sick and tired of bullies in our society including the government.

This dumb a(( wanna be pretend cop will get turned in for the reward just wait and see.

I smile to think it is just a matter of time before he/she/it gets caught.

I agree. He seemed trained in the way he approached my vehicle. Does anyone remember what kind of vehicle ran those bikers off Jefferson River Road?

Has anyone thought of placing undercover cops in vehicles and driving in the area to see if he pulls them over??? This guy is loony has to be acting like a wana be cop scaring women, he should know only a marked car is supposed to make a traffic stop and when I say marked I mean with the county name on the side if it... It dont take much these days for anyone to get there hands on police lights which are usually blue in this area dont think the county has any vehicles that use red lights combined with blue lights that would be another factor if your out driving in the county areas and you are light up by someone having red and blue lights combined I sure would not stop I would be on the phone to 911 ASAP!! I know Pendergrass uses red and blue lights combined but there units are marked, not sure if Jefferson, Arcade, or Commerce, or Maysville uses red lights combined.. I would play it safe and call 911 if you are in the area of where he has been stopping cars and make sure its a real officer making the stop before pulling over.... Not far the way this guy is scaring people.... I hope the real officers catch this guy and place him under the jail!! Wonder if they was able to get a tag number if so that should tell them maybe who he is unless its stolen or something?

This dirt bag has made too many mistakes including trying to run down the real cops. You know they have to be a little red faced the guy got away.

Not sure but the scuttle butt is on the reward for information leading to capture and arrest.

He is such a big man probably hiding for now.

He will get caught the police must have some good reports on sightings, and their duo with him.

Under the jail. You don't want me on the jury dude. Fair trial if guilty beyond reasonable doubt state pen with bubba. Oh that is your brother bubba1 and bubba2.

If the dirt bag were to stop me I will have a 400 pound dog in the car. And she knows how to shoot dead aim.
