The Jackson County Board of Education has named a new head football coach for Jackson County Comprehensive High School. Benji Harrison — an offensive coordinator at Flowery Branch High School — was named to the position on Monday, after the BOE held a closed-door meeting for an hour to discuss personnel. The called meeting was announced on Friday afternoon.
Harrison will replace Billy Kirk, who resigned after five season as head football coach of the JCCHS Panthers. Harrison will also be teaching at the school.
For a complete story about the new head football coach, see page 1B.
@fjcr: the previous coach wasn't getting it done (seemed to be getting worse? Maybe?), so the school hired a new coach.. I would think in hopes of coaching the players to make the plays as a team, no they might not be capable of winning a state championship, like you, but they haven't played for this coach yet, so you really don't know what they are going to do. And last time I checked, unless you are best friends with Mrs. Cleo or Dionne Warwick (which you may be?), you don't know for sure that THEY WILL NOT WIN...I take that back, for all I know you may be the president of your psychic friends network chapter.
btw fjcr...just bet you complained about JCCHS hiring a new principal too? and how much that cost? ...nevermind, forget I mentioned that.

YES COST IS AN ISSUE HERE. Because a while back JCCHS was belly aching about not having enough money SO they were going to have to lay off teachers? They layed off teachers then turned around and hired a retired basketball coach. SO I guess he wasn't retired after all? AND since YOU brought it up I wonder how many teachers will have to lose their jobs because of these new hires of a football coach and a principal?
