In a 3-2 vote, the Jackson County Board of Commissioners agreed Monday night on a paving contract for the new EMS station in West Jackson, but the action didn’t come until the commissioners again disagreed on the location of the new station.
BOC chairman Hunter Bicknell and commissioners Chas Hardy and Bruce Yates voted in favor of the paving contract with E.R. Snell Contractor Inc. for $57,612 for the paving and curb and gutter work at the EMS station to be located at 332 Zion Church Road. Commissioners Tom Crow and Dwain Smith voted against the action.
Crow questioned the location of the new EMS station in West Jackson and said putting a facility in the Hwy. 124 area would serve more people.
