The Jefferson Board of Education central office will relocate this week.
The BOE discussed plans, at Thursday’s monthly meeting to close on the Wood Brothers & Scott Surveying building on Storey Lane on Nov. 14 and begin moving the central office staff on Nov. 15 and continue through Friday, Nov. 18.
The BOE will continue to meet monthly in the board room at the William Duncan Martin Center of Performing Arts Auditorium on Washington Street.
At the meeting in October, the board approved spending $600,000 to purchase the Wood Brothers building for use by the central office staff.
At Thursday’s meeting, the board unanimously approved spending $23,000 to purchase furniture, phones, desks, chairs, blinds, window treatments, etc. from the Wood Brothers to remain in the new central office building.

How many teacher furlough days would that buy?
How many field trips?
How many smart boards for the classrooms?
How much grass seed for the muddy athletic areas?
How much of that money could have improved the plumbing and yellow water at the high school?
How many updated computers would it have bought?
1--who brokered the deal
2--what law firm handled the paper work
3--who made the sales commission
4--what was the appraisal price
something is fishy about this deal !!!
