Former Maysville mayor Richard Presley will again lead the town after winning in the town election Tuesday.
Presley had 131 votes, while Lynn Villyard had 119 votes and Donna Chesonis had 84 votes.
In the Ward I city council race, Kathleen Bush won over incumbent Clay Dorsey in a 61-46 vote.
In Ward II, Clyde “Junior” Hardy won over Jerry Parr in a 50-31 vote.
In Ward IV, Scott Harper received 63 votes. Ricky Akins was disqualified because he is not a registered voter.
NICHOLSON
In the Nicholson mayor’s race, incumbent Ronnie Maxwell won in a 212-132 vote over current council member Lamar Watkins.
For the two at-large council seats, former council member Faye Seagraves and Jan Webster were the top two vote-getters. Seagraves had 169 votes and Webster had 172. Chuck Wheeler had 138 votes and Vernon Wilson had 131.
JEFFERSON
In Jefferson, incumbents Steve Kinney and Roy Plott won. Kinney had 107 votes, while challenger Robert Yates had 63. Plott had 132 votes, while challenger David Parks had 52.
In Jefferson, the alcohol vote passed in a 368-246 vote. Both malt beverage and wine sales will be allowed on Sundays between the hours of 12:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.
PENDERGRASS
In Pendergrass, Hilda Gee (95 votes) and Thomas Marlow (94) were the top two vote-getters. William Ellis had 33 votes.
The Sunday alcohol sale vote failed in a 65-53 vote.
