EJCHS teacher who filed PSC compliant has resigned

An East Jackson Comprehensive High School who accused school leaders of various ethical violations has resigned.

Superintendent Shannon Adams confirmed on Monday that Jennifer Phiel had resigned from her position at EJCHS. Adams declined to provide further comments in light of an ongoing investigation by the state’s Professional Standards Commission (PSC) about accusations made by Phiel.

The teacher had filed a complaint with the PSC last spring alleging that several EJCHS officials created bogus rosters and other records.
Her attorney recently filed a complaint with the state’s Attorney General claiming that the Jackson County School System has refused to turn over records. The district is charging an “exorbitant” $1,500 for the open records, Phiel’s attorney wrote in a letter to the state attorney general.

Phiel’s was a science and math teacher at EJCHS.

how long before lawyers get involved? she will probably claim she was forced out and want a monetary settlement. after all, what other system will hire a known "trouble maker"

Why would you call this person a trouble maker. She just let everyone know whats going on. Why is she wrong for this. This is why Jackson County Schools are in so much trouble. When someone speaks out about an issue in the schools, all the ones at the upper level are told to destroy this person. Maybe this person didn't resigned, maybe she was fired. Happens to the best of us. JCS will tell you all kind of things that are not true.Its suppose to be innocent until proven guilty, not guilty until you prove yourself innocent.

These schools always has a BUDDY System to cover up. It is best when outsiders investagate this.Just look at the kids walking the halls getting out of class because their parents and teachers are in buddy system when another child has to have written note from doctor and parents just to go to bathroom when they have an illiness. Why ? They are not in the buddy system.

taxpayer also- I agree with you she is not a trouble maker? The Jackson County school system probably made it impossible for her to work there? The Buddy system that Jackson Co. has can help you as long as you agree with the Leaders BUT when you disagree with them you are screwed and your career is OVER.

Maybe there is a little more to the story. Did this teacher let the situation go after blowing the whistle? Did she continue to agitate the system? Did the system continue to pick at her? Or is this the teacher that sent out the football play list to all rival teams this year because her husband lost his coaching position with the school? Seems as she was trying to hurt the coaches and never thought it would only hurt the kids.

If she did do that, so what? Coaches trade stuff all the time. They trade film, playbooks,...over and under the table. Ask your sons' coach. There are no secrets in football anymore, not with replay and the internet. It doesn't matter if you know what's coming at you, you still have to be better than the other team. I know the coaches at Jackson County HS watch other teams-even encourage the players to "scout", watch and trade film and who knows what else. And unfortunately, for both JCCHS and EJCHS it doesn't seem we have the better athletes. I seriously doubt that every friday night the team that loses is the one that had no idea what the other team was going to do. Don't try and pin all their losses on this girl.

this women stole the play book from child in class and copied them and sent them out. she also told other teams to hit Ejchs running back, cj allen in the ankles because he has bad ankles. most schools sent them back, jcchs didnt they can know the other teams plays and still loose. they are so aweful. i know this stuff happened i go to East. i was in class when she was escorted out. she is just a plain out crap women so is her husband. and other teams dont have teams playbook women!

Why do you think this is so great because it is not your child affected. How would you like for someone to steal somehting from your child and share it with other people. I think Ms. Pheil is a very vindictive woman who needs help. I personnally think she should be tried in a court of law for theft. By the way if her husband was still a coach I think she would feel very differently.
