Animal cruelty alleged on Nicholson farm

A state agriculture official told a Jackson County sheriff’s deputy that some animals on a Nicholson farm were unhealthy, according to an incident report.

A Georgia Department of Agriculture official said he received a phone call about animal abuse at the Ga. Hwy. 334 residence.

When the official went to the backyard of the residence on last week, he said the animal abuse allegations mentioned in a phone call were true, according to an incident report. The official added that he lived on a farm all of his life and that one of the pigs in the backyard was the unhealthiest pig he had ever seen.
