The Rotary Club of Jefferson will sponsor the annual Jefferson City 9/11 ceremony on Sunday, Sept. 11, at 1 p.m., outside the entrance of the Jefferson Civic Center.
Sept. 11th is also Patriot’s Day. The public is invited to remember those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
Those scheduled to speak at the event are: Ron King, president of the Jefferson Rotary Club; Jim Joiner, Jefferson mayor and Rotarian; Joe Wirthman, Jefferson police chief and Rotarian; and Harvie Lance, Post 56 American Legion, Jefferson, commander.
The JROTC color guard at Jefferson High School will also be featured. Rotarian Michael Helms, pastor of Jefferson First Baptist Church, will give the invocation and benediction. Music will be provided by soloist Brooks Benton.
