Bear Creek boat ramp closed

Due to falling water levels that exposed the bottom of the boat ramp, the Bear Creek Reservoir boat ramp is closed.

“At this point, the boat ramp is completely exposed, and in recent days, boats became hung on the rocks and trailers were getting stuck,” explained Mott Beck, secretary of the Upper Oconee Basin Group, which manages the reservoir. “Although the ramp is closed until further notice, bank fishing is still allowed, and property owners may continue to launch boats.”
