A Jackson County Sheriff’s deputy was patrolling an area near a cell tower due to recent reports of property damage and thefts of copper from similar locations when he saw a truck parked near the tower.
As the officer shone his alley lights onto the tower access road, he saw a vehicle backed into the road near the cell tower’s security fence.
When the officer got closer to the vehicle, his lights sufficiently illuminate the interior of the truck’s cab for the officer to see that there were two people in the rear passenger area of the cab. The officer observed a male and female in varying states of undress who were apparently engaging in a romantic interlude.
The officer approached the vehicle and asked both occupants for identification. Both suspects provided Georgia State drivers’ licenses. The officer noted that both suspects appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol especially the female who was displaying pronounced characteristics of someone under the influence of methamphetamine.
After the officer checked the suspects’ identifications and found both to be free of warrants, he advised them that he believed they were under the influence, at which point the woman claimed she had a neurological disease that limits her ability to control her body movements.
As another officer arrived to assist, the deputy searched the vehicle but found no contraband. Both suspects were arrested for loitering or prowling on private property.
Used to be that you could get caught doing something that wasn't causing anybody else any trouble and you'd just be warned and sent on your way, but I guess since they didn't have any "contraband" and they weren't bothering anybody, and they weren't stealing anything, they must need to be arrested because they were making out!
I sure hope I don't get caught walking down the side walk and holding my wife's hand! I'd probably get locked up for that too.
Geez. Next, you'll get a ticket for breathing.
Just like the JPD hiding in the bushes, at the bottom of a steep hill on Brockton Road, and ticketing cars.
If any readers here visit Brockton Road please don't ride the locals tails for driving 35. I drive up and down this road (speed trap) all day long and have not received a citation yet. I would like to keep it that way.
Breaking hard down a steep hill may seem to odd to visitors to our road but we try to avoid gravity tickets here.
