JEFFERSON School leaders have proposed an $18.37 million spending plan for 2011-2012 with minimal changes from last year’s ledger, school officials say.
A final vote is slated for next month.
“It’s a budget that’s not that different from this past year’s budget,” Jefferson superintendent John Jackson said.
The school system, however, hasn’t finalized its expenses from this year’s budget, which stand at just under $17.37 million right now.
The $18.37 million proposed budget asks for just over $5.9 million in local tax money – the same as last year.
Jefferson had to apply over $1.28 million of its fund reserve to balance this year’s budget. Most of the budget changes were due to personnel.
