A portion of the Pendergrass Flea Market opened this past weekend after one of the buildings was heavily damaged in a fire two weeks ago.
The cause is undetermined due to the heavy damage, according to a representative with the state fire marshal’s office.
“We are open for business today with a large portion of our interior, and will be re-opening other sections over the coming weekends,” owner Tom Mooser said on Saturday. We are having to wipe clean every inch of the flea market to remove any smoke residue and taking each item out of the building to be hand cleaned.”
The state fire marshal’s office is also evaluating the remainder of the building for fire safety code issues.
