Neighbors try to find source of gunshots
Could someone be firing a cannon or another large weapon in the West Jackson area?
A man living at a Fairway Park Drive address in the Traditions of Braselton subdivision told a Jackson County deputy that he has heard a lot of gunfire recently and possibly explosions coming from the area of nearby Jackson Trail Road. The man said he pinpointed the gunfire to a particular address on that road.
A deputy called a man at that residence on Jackson Trail Road, according to an incident report. The second man said the gunfire could be coming from one of his neighbors.
The Jackson Trail Road man said he didn’t have a problem with the shooting, although the neighbors would shoot for several hours — and were possibly using “some type of cannon or other large weapon,” according to an incident report. The man said the sound shakes his entire house.
A deputy tried to contact someone at the neighbors’ houses, but wasn’t able to do so. The deputy said he’d try again.
