Darrell Hampton resigned as Jackson County manager Monday night with March 15 to be his last day.
The Jackson County Board of Commissioners accepted Hampton’s resignation following a 15-minute closed session to discuss “personnel.” There was no discussion on the matter when the meeting was opened to the public.
Commissioner Tom Crow voted against the motion to accept Hampton’s resignation, while the other commissioners voted to accept the resignation.
Hampton will receive six month’s separation pay, as is outlined in his contract.
Leonard Myers, who has twice before served two times as interim county manager, will again fill the position in Jackson County while a replacement is found for Hampton.

Time for the BOC to do a long nationwide search for a real manager and then let him do his job and clean out the mess caused by our last 2 managers.
On another note someone explain to Tom Crow it's not 1972. Tom do us all a favor and retire gracefully.
