LVI, the military third-party logistics division of LION, has opened a distribution center in Pendergrass.
The Pendergrass U.S. Army Third Party Logistics Distribution Center is the primary location for U.S. Army uniforms and associated clothing items under a contract with the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support.
The 265,000-square foot facility is presently staffed by 50 employees with an anticipated expansion to 75 employees.
The objective of the Pendergrass facility is to “ensure the mission-critical readiness of America’s warfighters with the efficient and effective management and supply of clothing items to the U.S. Army,” according to company officials.

“Relocating our distribution center to Pendergrass could not have happened without the strong enduring relationship with Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support built over a decade of services, successes and mutual respect”, said LION chief executive officer Steve Schwartz. “Virtually every soldier in the U.S. Army will be provided a uniform that passes through this facility sometime during their service.”

The State of Georgia was chosen due to the existence of a trained warehouse operations labor force. Additionally, the Pendergrass area is geographically convenient for shipping to U.S. Army locations.
