The search for the next Commerce Tiger head football coach is drawing to a conclusion.
Second interviews of four finalists were scheduled for this week.
“We hope to have a recommendation by the first of next week,” said principal and athletic director Donnie Drew in response to an e-mail inquiry.
The finalists include Marvin Justice, a CHS assistant coach who has been defensive coordinator; Tim Barron, head coach at Heard County High School; Heath Webb, heat coach at North Paulding High School; and Lee Campbell, head coach at Dodge County High School.
Interviews were to be conducted initially by Drew and superintendent James E. “Mac” McCoy, with board member Rodney Gary and Mary Seabolt joining the interviews later.
Barron was scheduled to be interviewed Monday, Webb Tuesday, Campbell Wednesday and Justice Thursday.
Presumably, the Commerce Board of Education will act on the recommendation at its Feb. 14 meeting.
